Second on Campobello Island. Beautiful place. Second on Schoodic Peninsula as well, including the Schoodic Point campground. The southern Maine beaches (Ogunquit, Kennebunk, Kennebunkport) are very pretty and the towns are very quaint with little shops and restaurants. The White Mountains/Kancamagus Highway area in NH is beautiful. Danforth Bay Campground in Freedom, NH, is a nice place to plunk for a day or two. The Kanc is reachable from there although I think there are campgrounds that are closer. There's a lot of hiking in the national forest there. The north shore of MA (Gloucester, Rockport, Newburyport) is very pretty area as well. Others can recommend places to stay up there. Good Harbor Beach is one of my favorites (Gloucester). Salem, MA, is rich in "witch" history. Then there's good ole Boston which is good for at least a day or two. And it's now apple picking and fair season, the BEST time of year!
