- kcmoedoeExplorerWhen? Timing is going to make a big difference. For example, the first two weeks of August you are going to be out of luck if you don't already have reservations in the Black Hills. The Sturgis Bike Rally will in full swing. In both Montana and Wyoming, if you are going to be near the big attractions (Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Glacier Parks), it will also be slim pickings for large sites until late in the fall. Many of the boondocking and back country sites in those states are really tough going on really bad roads. Are you willing and able to do those?
- whistlebritchesExplorerWe just got back from camping in Custer State Park at Ft. Welikit. Beautiful setting, but low water pressure, snowy cable at some sites and wi-fi iffy. If those things don't bother you, it has ambience.
