The boys ABSOLUTELY loved every part of the trip. No doubt. You can tell from the pictures. Not even the 3 days of driving cross country brought any complaining. Real troopers. The only slight hesitation we got from them was when we would hike too close back to back. Zion, for instance, by the third day of hikes, they didn't exactly jump out of bed. But I have a way of charming them...I just let them know that if they want to get home, they'll put a smile on. No choice. Grumpiness is not tolerated. :)
We definitely want another trip this coming summer. It was a huge favor that my wife asked of her job last summer. We're scared to ask again so soon, but probably will. We're debating of doing a more northwest loop including Rushmore, Badlands, Tetons, Yellowstone and maybe as far as Glacier. Or, a northeastern loop, NYC, coast up through Maine, maybe Nova Scotia? No doubt from me that I would go northwest...my wife wants the other loop.
Any thoughts?
