Noe-place, thanks. I spent the better part of a year planning this trip, and it was very much enjoyable. So much so, that it gave me an idea I'm using in school this year. I'm teaching an after school enrichment program and was asked to generate my own idea for the program topic. I'm doing a virtual travel club!
Teaching in a Title 1 school, many of my students have never traveled out of our county, much less the country or the world. My idea is to use Google Earth and other travel sites to send the students to locations around the world with tasks to accomplish, sort of like the Amazing Race but from your desk.
I haven't started yet (first day is today), but I'm sure that the kids will enjoy it as much as I did planning our family vacations.
