Thanks guys. I'm glad you read my post as intended. I'm not whining, and I understand the "why" of the situation. I had just hoped that for parents, it wasn't optional.
It would make a good sitcom. When I scanned the room and saw at least 10 of the 13 fooling with their phones, it actually crossed my mind that I was in a Seinfeld episode. It was easier to cope if I imagined a camera on me watching my attempts to actually "visit". :)
