Thanks again to all. I appreciate your sharing. However, if any of the "tough" guys on the forum come over and see all this going on, I'll lose my man card. ;)
All of you are right. Certainly having like interests and values on travel are the largest part of it. I just expected that being Gigi and Paw Paw would outweigh all else. I don't think they realize what I have to show them. It has a fair bit of production value alone (much less the content). Heck the soundtrack is so good that we burned a copy for listening in the car! We have underwater shots, action camera shots from all sorts of angles, the kids are at their best narrating...and on and on. I'd go so far as to say that even if you didn't know us, you'd say it was a really interesting show by the end. It's not fair to call it home movies.
I'm also a bit confused, because my parents do value travel. We had several large trips as kids, and in their retirement, they've been to the Southwest themselves, the Pacific NW and to Europe a few times. My Dad always tells stories of their trips. I remember many times him telling of his brother taking his kids to the Grand Canyon. I've heard the whole thing ad nausium.
I brought my Mac here to feed the movies to their TV. I'll be packing it up today. The window is closed. Yesterday, we were all sitting there and Dad put the tv on a John Wayne movie that we'd all seen at least a dozen times. I just sat there and felt an inch tall. Rewatching ANYTHING was better than watching even a piece of our movie...
I'm not sure how to edit it to a half hour, but I'll give it a shot. Or maybe not...imagine how I'd feel if they said no to a half hour!
