Our kids are in college and don't really camp with us anymore.
We have reduced our "long distance" trips, and do mostly local trips.
What is amazing, even in a state as small as Connecticut, is how much there is to see! The last couple summers I've made it a priority to try at least one new campground / park a year, and to explore a new area of the state. Virtually every town has an "historical society" and/or museum, and state parks and monuments are all over the place.
I think you will be amazed how much your "local area" has to offer when you really start looking!
