4X4 Dodger, thanks so much for your comments. Being a good parent is intentional. I need to hear input like yours from time to time, as it isn't all sunshine and roses. ;) It is really nice to hear you say the things you did.
We have a more local trip planned this year with the camper, and then a 3 week trip to Hawaii! I'll report on both.
