Tunnel Tree falls

Camped in Calaveras Big Trees September 2015. Deserted, beautiful. No scratching necessary. Well worth your time even without that tree....California State Hwy 4...I went over WITH a trailer. Won't do it again but glad I did it once.

There are still 3 trees that you can drive through. 1 of which has a natural split to it that creates the "tunnel".

Well scratch that off the list!

Hopefully they will carve a tunnel into another tree?!!!

Now we don't have to go....

So sad. Been trying to get to Calaveras for a decade....

Tunnel was carved over a 100 years ago.

Fires have 'gutted' similar trees.
