Tuolumne Meadows Campground, Yosomite experience?

In my opinion Tuoloumne Meadows is NOT suited for any RV, we did get in but at the time we have a small Viking popup. The roads make North Pines look like freeways and the campsites are littered with large boulders. If you do squeeze in I suggest not using the onboard toilet but stick to the CG restroom

As noted tight roads. You can fit in with your rig, but limited availability. This CG is more suited to tents, but we stayed there with our largish (19') pup.

Use the CG toilets rather than those in the trailer. Need a shower? One day we drove down to Yosemite Valley and went to one of the swimming pools. Kind of a interesting experience to swim there anyway, and the pools are $5/person, $4 for kids.

stayed there in truck camper about 10 years ago very tight...but nice area..when u leave head towards Lee vining..stop at the local saloon:Echeck your breaks long steep down grade...great views..have fun we did

I saw some Class A's at that campground, tucked very tightly between trees. Don't know how they did it.

I've camped there without reservations, usually in last week before the camp closes in September. Beautiful place. A very different Yosemite from what you see in the valley.

Yup, a dump station with fresh water is near that CG. IIRC it's not far away... a few hundred yards down the road, perhaps.

I saw a family with a water bladder on the roof of their vehicle; they went to fill up the bladder and drove back to the campsite, and filled their popup's tank by gravity through a hose. It saved them the hassle of folding and unfolding their popup. Pretty nice.

Great comments. We are trying to stay in Tuolumne to get away from the heat. Hoping the higher elevation would be cooler. Plan to be there the last of June.

Reserve America has the Tuolumne campsites reservable at 35'. We are hoping to get our 21' TT and a tent on one site. Now I'm not sure we can do it.
Also I can not find a way to contact the NP to get a question answered.

It is not big rig friendly -- drive slowly on those interior roads, with a spotter for the trees. But if the website says you can fit, you can rely on that info. I think you should have room for your rig and the tent. It is a lot cooler up there than in the valley -- bring sweatshirts and mosquito juice.

Also bring jerry cans for the water. There are faucets in the campground -- just fill your can, tote it back, dump it into the fill hole, repeat. Great exercise at 8000 feet!

The hiking in the high country near TM CG is world class. So are the flowers.

Your 21' travel trailer should have no problem fitting on a site there. Also, the tents are normally placed on a specific tent pad in it's own space. There should be an issue. Have fun!
