LOL...I can see how some would feel that way. Fact is, there are several routes starting and ending in Rockville, each of them heading in a different area of the county and highlighting the covered bridges. DW and I love exploring on and off these routes, through the countryside. All usually have beautiful fall colors displayed. Larger areas of crafts, food, flea markets, etc. (jnharley's "junk sales") are in Rockville, Mansfield, and Bridgeton, with many other communities participating on a smaller scale. Great way to spend a few days, if you like that sort of thing.If not, it might look like a junk sale! :D

We have been to the covered bridge festival twice, staying at Turkey Run campground on the second visit. It was a good home base for us. The lodge ias agood place for dinner.

Thanks for the replies. Turkey Run State Park is located in Indiana. West towards Illinois and is in Parke county. I am interested in the covered bridge festival. They have a lodge there that is actually booked two years in advance. They have a total of 31 covered bridges with 10 retired. The 200 hundred loop is in Sugar Ridge section. I like trees and and understand about limbs. Just do not like walnut trees, actually any nut tree! I am from Ohio. The park itself looked great, I think the covered bridges will be awesome. They have pictures of each campsite, which makes it nice. I was going to go last year but did not make it. I think I will try it out this year.

There is a covered bridge festival in October. The covered bridges are there the year around.

West central Indiana.

I'm not able to pull up the map right now, but the cg areas consist of both heavily wooded and open sites. Generally speaking, those areas to the western side are more wooded, while those on the eastern half are more open with fewer trees and larger sites. All very nice in this very popular sp.
