Not terribly far from Twin Falls is a little-known national historic site called Minidoka. It's where one of the WWII Japanese internment camps was located, and a few of the original buildings (barracks, dining hall, fire station, etc.) still exist on the property. Largely self-guided tour, and expect heat & plenty of wind as you walk along the path, but it's worth the visit. A part of our history that we shouldn't be proud of, but should all know about. I highly recommend a visit. It will be on back roads, and is east of Twin Falls, perhaps an hour or less.
