UPS Deliveries

Too many packages disappearing from porches etc. UPS and the post office both just drop the package and if you are lucky knock once. You are seeing more and more where it is recommended that packages be sent to some type of pickup location.

Loving some of the booby traps I'm seeing on the TV that people have rigged. Saw one last night where some guy is marketing an exploding blank shotgun shell. The video looks like the guy stealing the package may think twice before trying it again.

At Victoria Palms in the RGV the deliveries go to the site. With over 1,000 sites package delivery to the office would leave no room for the office workers.

UPS truck drops off load to be delivered to site by UPS owned golf cart.

Seeing a lot more Amazon direct deliveries.

If you pay the monthly fee for UPS Plus or whatever it's called, you can have your packages delivered to the nearby ups store. They should have better operating hours than the resort office.

Amazon has a deal with 7-11 I believe, maybe other store too called Amazon Lockers. Shipment locked in a box you open with your phone and a barcode.

So what happens when the park office loses a package? Or the wrong person gets it?

Good point. I am not happy with the deal at all. Now, I have to take a vehicle to the office if I am anticipating a large delivery rather than walking. A couple of the people in the office like to get involved in all the park resident's business.

Their park ...their 'rules'

Personally was glad that a park even accepted mail/packages vs having to find another place.....General Delivery/Post Office, UPS Store etc.

You think they'll tell anyone when a package comes from "Sexy Penguin Outfits R US" ? :E :p LOL.

What about medications? VA sends theirs all out by mail.

Does the office call you as soon as a package arrives so you know to refrigerate that "Ice Cream of the Month Club" package right away? How do they store the insulin?

Surely any 'insurance' would be null and void once the office accepts the packages?

Then again, it would be nice to not wait around all day for a package ;)

I know the South Carolina state parks.. it at the park office and they call you to come an get it.. with proper ID..

here in Texas.. its to the camp site... UPS went by today about 10:30... FedEx was 11am...

USPS is to the park Office...

Couple of the RV Resorts we've stayed in the packages were left in the office where anyone could grab them. We had one disappear at one park. Plus an envelope containing a birthday card was taken that had been placed in the alphabetical mail slots. The staff saw two ladies messing around by the mail slots which are at the back of the store/office. The ladies left and were spotted walking out of the RV Park...obviously didn't belong there. Police were called and a report taken. Nothing ever came of either theft.
