The earlier you file, the less likely you are to have a fraudster file "for you." As full-timers, we access all of our tax documents on-line (1099s, etc.). I used TurboTax for decades... until they changed the features and price structure and pi$$ed me off. I've used the H&R Block software the past three years or so and file electronically. Last year, I think I filed on February 1.
