Three of my favorites when I was living in the Ogden area were:
Willard Bay State Park (nice well kept can get windy in the evenings close to I-15)
Antelope Island State Park (The buffalo can and sometimes will wander thru the campsites...pretty neat-o I thought)
Monte Cristo Utah (Sits at 9000 feet beautiful spot way up high in the Wasatch...might be open when you get up that way)
Of course there's lots of camping around Pineview reservoir and on up toward Magpie which is on the way to Monte Cristo.
Loved this area when growing up back there.
I think you might like these places too.
