Highway 12 is a great road through some amazing areas. The road however only gives a glimpse as to what is out there. While the views are great from the road, do yourselves a favor and find a spot to stay a few days and drop into the canyons and really explore. If you are in a position physically to put a few miles under your feet you can find some of the most amazing places in my opinion. Whatever you do, have fun!
