My point is not the pet fee as much as it makes the State Parks more expensive than private campgrounds so why go to a State Park when I can take my dogs & pay less at a private campground and get more. Taking the fee away brings the Sate Park down to the private campgrounds charge. So we stopped going to the State Parks because of all the extra fees.
The $5 fee is not just a $5 fee. It is a per dog fee making our weekend $20 more due to fees so yes it is a big deal when I can save the $20 and go elsewhere. We camp so we can take the dogs with us.
And no our older truck & camper cost much less than a new fancy truck. We have to save anyway we can and $20 extra for a weekend makes a difference to us. We are not rich. Please come down off your rich high horse. All campers are not driving fancy trucks & RVs.
WHY are we or others not responsible people since we do not leash our dogs at home. WE are not special we just do not have or need to leash our dogs at home. We do pick up after them & leash them out & at the campgrounds........
