Its beginning to get to the point I hate to post anything on this forum because it always seems to turn into a pi***ng match.  There is little doubt the fees in VSPs are to produce revenue and frankly the CGs provide a large portion of that revenue.  The dog fee was a part of that revenue and now the park system has changed the way it raises revenue.  The park system in VA actually covers somewhere between 30 and 40% of its costs through fees (the best of any VA state agency).  The rest is paid for by VA tax payers.  The park system is just that...a PARK system, and CGs are a part of it.  Personally I think the park system does a good job with what they have to work with...they are under staffed, under funded, and in many cases lacking adequate equipment to do the job at hand.  If, after all that you still think the cost is too high...camp elsewhere.
