Get a paper map and a circle compass. Put the sharp point on home and the pencil point 300 miles away, or however half way is depending on your usual speed. Draw the line. Then let the kids pick someplace inside the line. They have to agree on one place only. See if they can do it. If they can't agree, then Mom and Dad get to pick with no complaints from the kids. Fat chance, but worth a try.
