Howdy! My recommendation is to NOT stay in one spot!!! You'd be doing a lot of driving to see all that VT has to offer if you were just at one end of the state or the other...but they would be pretty rides, even though they'd be slow! Look at Winhall Brook, a COE park in the southern part of the state (W/E only, tho...), and Moose River in St. Johnsbury, North Beach in Burlington (a bit tight but great location). Several others come well recommended up towards Grand Isle, but we stay at the State Park up that way. ST
