I recently was traveling south on I-75 and was watching the trees along the interstate. My purpose was to see when they were mostly Palm trees rather than northern type. This occurred about 30 miles south of Tampa and the area became more tropical. I have also spent a few winters in AZ and TX before becoming a Florida resident. The daytime temps in Arizona get up to warm temps but the heat starts to go away by later afternoon due to the low humidity. The RGV was too windy for me although the prices were quite a bit lower than south Florida. Just my two cents.
