It may be very well have been Vera's...a great hole in the wall. Nice memories, my Wife and I met my folks in Chama, rode the railroad and had these smoking hot 'n spicy burritos every night that we stayed in Chama.
Have you ever used Benadryl w/ your pups? For medical reasons (orthopedic) we needed to settle some dogs down and long ago Benadryl helped (dosage can be found on the net. but after finding the correct dosage I'd try it at home to make sure the dosage is correct and that there are no adverse or paradoxic reactions). The camp hosts may be persuaded (a gift card or some other offering) to take your pup out to water the grounds once...it is a long day on the train.
Have fun...unlike Cali (where I grew up) they've been receiving a lot of precip there too (we've had over 6" in May so far, setting a 123 year record)!
