Opie431....any rules saying to NOT park are usually city ordinances. Every city has different rules.

hotpepperkid......I can't imagine "storing" a DP at Walmart....maybe they're waiting for someone to destroy it so they can get insurance money!!!!!!!

1.How do you know how long they have been there? Are you keeping an entry/departure log?

2. No disrespect meant but why does it bother you? Ugly views? Property values dropping?

There are people all over this world that ignore signs and do what they choose.

It's WalMart property and Wal-Mart's problem.

Rant at WalMart for allowing it and tell them you will be shopping somewhere else.

When it affects their sales, believe me, they will do something.

Yes Sir, we can agree on that. Personally I would complain loudly to WalMart both locally and at the corporate level.

Would make sure they know it is reducing sales as you and many other locals will choose to shop elsewhere because of inconvenient parking.

WalMart truly only cares about one thing: Sales. Affect sales and they will take action. You can count on it.

On a personal note, I have never stayed in a WalMart parking lot. If it were an emergency, maybe, but only then. When I see it, I can only think of the book "G****s Of Wrath," by John Steinbeck. I know it should not but it does.

To ALL of you who are ranting about the campers in the WalMart parking lot let me reiterate my previous statement:

I assume since the Manager and Asst Manager come to work each day by CAR (not teleportation) they see what is in their parking lot.

This leads one to the INEVITABLE conclusion that it is OK with the management and/or the Campers (MORE LIKELY) have prior permission.

The signs are there for WAL MART and it is WAL MART that is ignoring them.

This practice doesnt make anyone "LOOK BAD"

It's really none of anyones business except those staying there and WAL MART. It is after all PRIVATE PROPERTY.

And Yes the OP was a rant.

We had an engine issue in our truck one trip and dealership didn't have space to unhook from FW. So, we limped a mile to Wal-Mart and dropped 5er. Took truck back to shop. They did get it fixed that day, but if they couldn't we would have been in lot all day and night plus until fixed. They told us it would be 5 hours if all went well but if bolts broke due to being on exhaust.....Point is sometimes there are reasonable explanations for being there and yes we had slides out and genset running for AC.

On ouer resent trip to Alaska we had to overnight at Capalabas in Billings all campgrounds was full. They have an area spesifikly for rvs and trucks compleat with dog kennels and horse corall. Ther were 3 or 4 other rigs overnight, nice quiet and clean. We shure apreseated the spot and did a bit of shopping ther. Not everybody that stay in those plases dos so out of chipnes but nessesety.

If there are enough privately owned CGs in the area, that pay local taxes and VOTE, zoning laws will change. I don't imagine the people working at Wally World care one way or the other, except for the people that have to clean up the mess after the freeloaders leave. There's two of them near where I live. One allows it, the other one doesn't. I don't know why - or care.
