Walmart camping

My longest Walmart thread as a Moderator was 214 pages long.

This was my last post before locking it down:

Well, folks, this Walmart Thread has been quite a ride.
However, it has outrun its usefulness. What we have now consists for the most part of the following:

Members reposting their original posts.

Other members counting and analyzing those posts.

New Members wanting to know what all the fuss is.

Posts that are totally off-topic.

Trollers posting something inflammatory just to get a rise out others.

Besides that, my editing and deleting finger is tired.

Thank you all for responding to this thread over the last year.
May it rest in peace. And so may I.

someone should make a list of Walmart's not to stay at if you value your RV. I can think of a couple Benton Harbor Mich and gary In.

Walmart camping is not something I feel safe doing, but that's my personal opinion and could care less if others do it. I would compare it to rock climbing or hand gliding, I do not think it is safe, but we shoul not ban the sports lol. I do think we are coming close to there being a ban on the activity due to liability and recent events. The bad will ruin it for the good, usually the case.

I wish RV parks would take notice, have a spot in your lot for people to park for $5. No power, no use of facilities, have a price on the dump station, per hour of power, per minute of water. There is a revenue stream there that would interest some. I personally would much rather pay $5 for a few hours of rest then at a Walmart.

I get upset when I seen campers parked in Wal-Mart. It means they are on vacation and I'm not.

I see the same motorhomes/trailers and 5th wheels sitting there for 2-5 days with their slides out....patio rugs out and looks like they are planning on staying for a long time. Even went by there yesterday and guy had his slide out on his 5ver...unhooked like the others and he was washing it!!

1.How do you know how long they have been there? Are you keeping an entry/departure log?

2. No disrespect meant but why does it bother you? Ugly views? Property values dropping?

There are people all over this world that ignore signs and do what they choose.

It's WalMart property and Wal-Mart's problem.

Rant at WalMart for allowing it and tell them you will be shopping somewhere else.

When it affects their sales, believe me, they will do something.

Because some of us follow the rules or common senses. It can be upsetting to see someone who do something that OP or I would not do. I bet you one of the persons who throws cigarette butt out the window from your car!

Did it EVER occur to you that perhaps they have PERMISSION from the Wal Mart Mgmt? The signs are there to give "legal Headroom" to Wal Mart in case they have to ask someone to leave for some reason.

In my veiw this is not about you following the rules...it is about you wanting to ENFORCE the rules. I think there is a streak of the School Hall Monitor in you.

It's sad but there is an awful lot of folks on this site who should really have their very own little Third World Banana Republic to rule over with an iron fist.
