Didn't take too long for that comment to appear.

Now let's get in to another full-blown discussion about Walmart parking.

Asphalt RVing may or may not be someone's preferred style, but it would have been awfully handy since we arrived after dark a day early for our Thousand Trails reservation. Yes, you can still boondock outside the park. That is where we are, now. But we would have preferred to avoid coming into an unfamiliar area in the dark after a good rain and not being sure if we would get stuck in the mud.

I don't blame Walmart or the city or the police. I blame the family of wackobirds that caused the trouble. I love this area, with its awesome scenery and wide open spaces, and would love to have a permanent base here eventually. But I am not blind to the fact that those same wide open spaces can allow a type of disconnection from society that positively encourages any slight eccentricity to grow and blossom into full blown nutbaggery.

Yes. Sometimes crowded but still a boondocking spot.

That is where the local 'stealth' group is now hanging out due to Walmart not being available.

Widening of 260 with 9 'round-abouts' from Thousand Trails to I-17 begins next year so area travel will be a mess for couple years (+) and the 'stealth group' may have to move along.

Good to know about the planned construction. We will be back east most of next year. But I want to come back out west the year after.

Many layover the night at many casino's. Should we close all of them down as well?

What about truck stops? What's your take on them?

First, I never will even shop at a WM, they are ,to me, as bad as a terrorist group to America.
I do support and enjoy the casinos and stay for several nights not just a wham bam thing.
I use truck stops for fuel only. With a 40' TT they offer the best choice to fuel. Sleep there, not hardly.
I know a lot of folks just do not plan their trips as I do or time limits cause them problems,as they are still worker bees, and time does have significance. I will never do WM or several other places do to their treatment of their fellow Americans and the cost to all of us as most are on government assistance. But that is me and several folks I know. We can be snooty towards some trash and don't need to patronize them.

Now if Wall Mart would only prohibit people with concealed and non-concealed weapons to shop in the store!!!! Are we getting that paranoid that we have to wear a Magnum 457 in plain sight to go into to Wall Mart to buy a shirt or TV?????? What about the rights of other people in the store having to be exposed to weapons when they have their children with them????

Do you really know the background of those casinos and really, really know where all that money goes? What about the folks going there who use their kids' food money to gamble? Doesn't that bother you?

WalMart employs millions of people. If not for them, where would those workers go? It's hard enough to get jobs period.

Before casino workers unionized they were far worse off than a WM employee could ever be. Some still are. But hey, I agree that we vote with our money.

There was a recent newspaper article about a WM in Livingston, Tx closing down to remodel. The 200+ employees sure seemed upset about losing that miserable job they had.

1st you and only you decide to gamble, case closed.
2nd Gee just how many stores went out of business because of WM. Family owned stores, your neighbors. Whole towns made into ghost towns across the US. Yes we sure can do without them. Oh and the folks that had the stores before are forced to work there to survive at all., period.
