Wash DC area?
Kids are stationed at Fort Belvoir which is right by DC. The closet campground would be Pohick Bay Campground in Lorton Va anybody been there can you get a long trailer 36ft in and around the reviews...

There is the cherry hill koa as well but that might be even further. KOA looked a bit more crowded than I liked but is closer to DC and has a bus stop there for trips to/from DC.
I'm pretty sure there's no KOA affiliation at the Cherry Hill RV Park in College Park, MD.
It's a great choice for DC and I will stay there again, but since it's on the Maryland side of DC, maybe not best location for the OP.
