waterfront land
Are there still any waterfront lots that you can park a camper on in the mid-Atlantic area. Most of the lakes and now the rivers that we've seen have been developed to the point no wants a "camper" in the area. Ideas?

- Sorry, It was a thought. You might want to describe your needs better.And exp;and your horizons. If you are looking by location, I don't think you will be successful. They sell dirt by the square foot around here, and it comes with a lot of regulations.
- D & M, again developers have put to many restrictions in place. Can't park a camper on your own land even short term. I have the same problem with land I already own on Smith Mountain Lake in Cent. VA.
I'm thinking I might be better to concentrate on river frontage since there would be fewer sub-divisions. But thought someone on here might be familar with something in their area. - Haven't seen much of anything like that since the '60s. There was a time when you could build along the Intracoastal Waterway or backwaters, but even then you had to build, not put a trailer on it. Changes in the law since then have further limited development along public waterways and on reservoirs, and most of your "lakes" will be, like ours on the Plains, reservoirs.
I think you can still find property like that in places where they have thousands of little lakes (in the Northeast would probably be called ponds). Northern Minnesota, southern Michigan maybe. I still see trailers and occasional RVs on the lakefronts there. 3 dog nights wrote:
