We all often read posts disparaging or encouraging public, private, boony or wally docking.
Whats the truth with you? What % of nights in your rig do you use what as travelers, not long term residents in one place.
For us it is about 1/2 private, 1/4 public camps, boondock dry on federal land most of the the other 1/4, an occasional night in fair weather for a sleepover stop on a business lot.
For the purpose of this thread, leave out financial reasons for your choices , focus on what other reasons you have for your travels.
See you soon on the road,

Max,
It all depends on the person and their comfort level -- when we travel we will generally stop and spend the night while in route at a Wally*Mart - Safe - No trees or rocks to damage the Coach if we pull in after dark - in most cases just a quick pull-off the main road - usually has a place to eat close by - allows us to restock, the items we forgot - often gas or diesel is sold there or very close by at competitive prices - we have a coach that can go for a week without the need of services (but we seldom go more than a few days when we travel) - often in the location we go the CG is not open out of season, or there is not one near by - because we are spur of the moment travelers we do not have reservations - we have had some, W*M's that we used often, as we will make the same two or three day trips to the same location.
So that covers the Wallly*Mart - as you can see we are fans, and have taken advantage of the resource as we travel.
Once we arrive at our destination we like others use a combinations of facilities, Private 30% + - State and County Parks 30 - 50% - Boondock 10% - Friends and Family, driveways <5%
A majority of our travels have involved Family - when they are available we travel with them or visit our Great National Parks and Surrounds. For me personally, I love to just drive on any (usually different) Back Road across this country (the Mountain Highways are a favorite), whether it be the in the Coach or the Toad.
The DW will never sell the sticks and bricks house so the travel is secondary, if I had my choice, Travel would be primary, and as the GPS and Arial Maps get better it is even more fun to just Drive down any old ROAD and stay any old Place.
