Where are you going for the 4th of July?

Don't travel on holidays
Staying at the house,going to the picnic at the American Legion
The next weekend going to Balloon fest at Steamboat Springs

Cape Carteret, NC...there's a party for 50 or so locals along BogueSound a few miles from our house on the mainland facing Emerald Isle. Fireworks and grilled fresh fish are involved.

This post just gave me the idea to go in our van, put out the awning and enjoy the festivities with my own private bathroom, refrigerator ....and bed for naps after a few beverages.

The best way to plan a fourth of july trip is to leave the day before and come home on Monday.. No traffic.. If it is hot out,,, kick on the a/c units..

Doing pulled pork in my backyard. We try not to travel on holidays plus it is too darn hot. Waiting on Labor Day.....

Now that summer has finally arrived we are going to get some altitude. We don't know exactly which one but it will be either plan A or plan B in Teton NP, dry camping.

The trick will be to get there a day or so ahead of the crowd.

Hey PAPA PETER I am jelous. We will be sleeping on a hard gravel floor while you are on a confortable couch.Hopefully your couch is in good condition so you can have a good night sleep.

We stay home on the 4th because of all the traffic. I play golf and DW does her thing and after the smoke/dust clears, we're taking off to St. Augustine and Golf World!!:B

I'm staying home for the holiday and watch the two parades that are planned... the ones comin' and goin'.:B
