Where to camp north of Seattle

Try Washington Park just west of Anacortes. No ferry fees to worry about, but you have the option of walking on the ferry for a trip through the San Juan islands.

Hundreds of acres of woods on Puget Sound. Sites are wooded for the most part. No sewer, but they have a dump station.

We've been going here for years.

Deception Pass SP is really quite nice. No ferry service needed. But only water and electric, so you'd have to dump when you leave the CG.

That's usually a setup issue, the person running the ramp has not set it right. They are designed to allow a sport-car to pass, without bottoming out, at any tide. Sometimes the person running the ramp gets lazy and doesn't want to run it up/down far enough.

we are coming up June, the lowest summer tides. I'd not bet my rig on if the ramp is good enough at a really low tide. I know our 40' Newmar will high center at or below half tide on any given day.

I don't believe that it is the ramp operator's fault, the ramp is lowered until it strikes the ferry deck. Mother nature determines where that is.

Want to say thanks VERY MUCH to all you fine folks who offered great suggestions. Really appreciate you taking the time to reply to my question. I'll check out the many suggestions and I'm sure I'll find the right place. I'll put up a post when I make a decision and a 'review' of the place after we've (wife & I) enjoyed our summer vacation there.

BayView State Park is right up by LaConner and Burlington. There is a Camping World Right off of the I-5 exit you take to get there and the campground is 6 miles from I-5 minutes away from the beach of Padilla Bay. A really nice clean park. It's about an 1 1/2 hr's from Seattle.

The Ferry will cost between $150 and $200 for your RV depending on time of year.
