I thought I'd pick the brains of all you seasoned travelers. :BMy idea of an ideal climate includes:high temps 85 degrees or lessovernight temps 50 or highermostly sunny weathernot many mosquitos or biting fliesWhat places in continental US do you know of that come closest to this ideal during June through August?Edit: I should add, not overly humid. Let's say 55% humidity or less.

We have spent two summers on the Oregon coast and it pretty well meets your needs however it can be windy depending on your location. We have traveled pretty well the whole country and the only other place we found close to Oregon coast temps was the Two Harbors area of Minnesota on Lake Superior.

My vote is anywhere in the mountains from northern Colorado to Montana

MI Upper Peninsula is close, but depending where you are, the mosquitoes and flies can be bad.

That reminds me of a joke... a grizzly bear wandered into a huge cabinetry factory and fell into a vat of varnish.

It was a grizzly end... but a beautiful finish.

That'll be fun!! On the OP's list of desired characteristics for summer camping, we could add "grizzlies few and far between." I have hiked in grizzly country -- it is exciting but not very relaxing.

Yes, they were black bears but grizzlies will be reintroduced into the North Cascades probably in a more remote area than where you were.

Yes, that is Mt. Shuksan. There will be mosquitos and bears.
