Where to go for kids spring break in 3 weeks

Kentucky lake is where we decided to go next week. Land between the lake is where we are going to. I will let everyone know how it was. Thanks for the input

Is Mammoth Cave NP too far? There are plenty of campgrounds in and near the park. We were there at this time of year two years ago and the redbuds and dogwood were in bloom in Kentucky. The kids might enjoy crawling around on some of the special tours through the more remote parts of the cavern. And the nicest thing is that Mammoth Cave tours can be done regardless of the spring weather outside!

I know you said Branson is too far but a two day pass or in after 3 and the next day free at Silver Dollar City has always worked so well for first our children and then our grandchildren, We love tablerock State Park, campground #2.We have stayed there many times. It would add about 5 hours to a St.Louis trip.

1stgenfarmboy you mentioned several other places in So. IL. I hope to visit some of those places this summer.

If the kids like outdoor stuff So.IL would be good, lots af waterfalls, burdenfalls, jackson falls, trigg tower, bellsmith springs, dixon springs, garden of the Gods, pounds hollow, giant city park, (good food at the lodge ).

If they are not into outdoors, St.Louis would be the ticket, lots of things to do go up in the arch if you go there, and lots and lots of good food, Cohokia mounds is an awesome spot for kids, six flags, graints farm, the science center is a must for smaller kids.



You could also spend 1/2 the time in one place and move to the other as they are only 2 1/2 hours apart.

World Bird Sanctuary and Lone Elk Park(Elk, Bison, deer drive thru park)free/donation

Meramec Caverns or Onandoga Cave 45 min-1 hr
Augusta, MO, wine trail and Klondike Park 45 min

Southern IL
Giant City SP or Ferne Clyffe SP - electric, fill tank w/water

Cave in Rock free ferry across the Ohio River not sure what is on KY side but ferry is nice ride

Look up land between the lakes. lots to do
