X3 on Roy and Lynne's itinerary. May and June can sometimes mean that the roads in Yellowstone/Grand Teton are not yet fully open. We came through South Dakota (Rushmore, Spearfish) at the end of May this year and got hit with four or five inches of snow overnight. The weather in Arizona should be more predictable at the time of year that the OP is thinking of traveling.
