Where to stay

Ok I know its late to get into Anastasia state park for the Florida spring break March 17th week. I will still try and find a cancellation for that week. Anastasia is located in St Augustine Fl so I was wanting some feed back on where is a good place to stay in St Augustine? I had heard that FAVER-DYKES SP, FL just south has a problem with ticks (who wants that). Any help would be appreciated.
  • We have family in St. Augustine, so visit there often. Anastasia is our favorite, of course, but like you said - hard to get into during the "season".

I think it depends on how close to want to be to St. Augustine. We have stayed in Faver-Dykes SP, as well as Gamble-Rogers SP, and Tomoka SP, and never had any more problem with ticks or other bugs than anywhere else depending on the time of year.

We like to be right in St. Augustine Beach, so if Anastasia is full, we usually go to St. Augustine KOA right up the street. It is a little pricey, but very convenient and nice. An other possibility is North Shore Campground which is north of St. Augustine out on the beach.

I think you mean North Beach RV?
  • You might want to check again. I found three days for a site(must have been cancelation) for about that time period when I checked 2 days ago. Our plans changed and wont need it anyway. I know 2 days ago is stretching it for it to still be there, but you never know.
