Where would you go for the month of May?
I may have the opportunity to RV for the entire month of May this year. Travel would originate from Salem OR... returning to Salem by the first of June. I have a 36' 5th wheel... I can dry camp ...

Most of the desert southwest is good in May. It will be warmer in Death Valley than Grand Junction, CO but both will be comfortable enough. You can still get freezes in May in the higher elevations and the desert may have high wind issues. Pick an activity-fishing, sight seeing, socializing, etc-and plan accordingly. Generally, if you are below 7500ft in May the weather should be nice.
I personally enjoy driving for a day and then stopping for 1-2 days to see the local area. You can cover a lot of ground and see some nice country that way.
