We haven't gone out on a holiday weekend in years but decided to take a chance this year with the crazies.
We are going to Cook Forest State Park in PA.
I have Cook booked later this summer. Never been before, have you?...
Yep, many times over the last 40 years.
Any "must see's" when we get there? I'm going mostly to see the trees and do some biking/relaxing.
Not a great place for bicycles unless you really, really like hills.
Great area for road motorcycling.
The old growth trees are in the forest cathedral area.
Hike.
Check out the old fire tower.
Float or paddle the Clarion river.
Lots of craft and tourist shops.
Flea market in Leeper.
Horse riding stables.
Go cart tracks.
Farmer's Inn restaurant has a zoo of sorts.
Allegheny National Forest is north of Cook's Forest.
The very first oil well is west and there are some museums and such.
Ride the Oil Creek and Titusville railway west of park.
