Which are short term sites at Gulf State Park?

We have reservation starting Thanksgiving, and running the week after, at Gulf State Park, Alabama. When we made the res they said that short term stays, you didn't get a picked site. That you pick...

Just a follow up.

They did have a site assigned to us. It is on the main road, but a nice site.

We were met with an extra $7.00 per day "resort fee", that apparently Alabama has placed on this state park sometime since we made our reservation in August. An email, or some kind of notice would have been nice.
