Which campground in Custer State park?

I think you'll really enjoy Legion Lake with the activities for your kids. Fwiw, we actually camped in site 4e (thought it was 3) very nice sizeable site with woods behind.
I would definitely book early and don't forget to check the Sturgis dates for 2016,gets really busy around that time.
