Which campground in Custer State park?
We hope to stay there in the summer of 2016, so still a ways out, but never too early to plan. It looks like there are several choices of campgrounds in the state park and I'm not sure which one to...

Legion Lake was excellent, it's not very big and only water/electric. But we loved being in the park..Everything Doc said was spot on...The road through the park though is a thoroughfare to Custer, everyone uses it and it was busy. Keep that in mind if you are traveling with small children. Mesquito repellant for evening walks around the lake. The cafe was nice and food actually pretty good.
There is a new dump station at the wildlife loop that is very easy to get in and out of. We really enjoyed being there. We stayed 12 days. If I remember right, Grace Coolidge was just down the road and it was more level than Legion, but also seemed more open to the road and road noises, same with Game lodge. but still very nice to be right in the park.
