We generally stay at Pine Mountain RV Resort while in Pigeon Forge but it seems all river sites are booked for our time frame in December so we are looking at other options. I have seen really good...

We,too, like Pine Mtn; like the size of the sites (for a tourist area), how you are close to everything, but not RIGHT ON the parkway. We have stayed at River Plantation, but we were not impressed. It is in Sevierville and getting into PF from there is sometimes just a pain in the rear - traffic can be HORRIBLE.
If we were coming and could not get into Pine Mtn, we would probably try Bear Cove, just beside Dollywood; Twin Creek in Gatlinburg or if we were wanting really quiet, we would do Smoky Bear out in Cosby.
