Whisper Creek - LaBelle, FL

We have made reservations for Whisper Creek RV Resort for a few weeks in February... We are looking for an alternative for when we are able to spend several months in Florida to get out of our cold & snowy winters of Ohio. Anyone have any thoughts on this park? Thanks!

  • We spent a week there 2 winters ago. We took advantage of a special we picked up at the Tampa RV Show. The park is OK. It is divided into 2 sections and we did not know that until we had been on our site for a couple of days. We were parked between two older permanent mobiles - site was OK, but not great. After a couple of days when we were walking, we discovered a newer area that was more for short term campers as opposed to permanents. We really wished we had of been placed there - no idea why we weren't as there were lots of spots available. .

The newer section was more open and sites were large. There were no cliques like in the permanent area. The pool was decent as was the clubhouse.

We would return, but only if we were in the newer area. I think a month there would be enough for me - there are lots of other areas to explore.

Thanks Tripalot, I appreciate you sharing your experience... I will try to get a site in the newer section...

  • You might want to look at cross creek in Arcadia.
We spent last summer there, but we live down here.
    YMMV
  • Just east of there on Rt.27 at the town of South Bay is their County park RV campground. Its a wonderful, modern park just across the levy from the Big lake. Their is a small pond in the middle of the park. Being a County park, they have long term rates for snowbirds.
