The route I generally take to Spokane from Kalispell is to head south on 93; at Elmo take mT 28 to mT 200; turn left on Mt 200 and then turn right MT 135 to St Regis where you'll hit I 90.(MT 28 does have a climb and some curves - if this concerns you, take US93 to Ravalli and turn right on US 200; a little further but better road.)
As far as camping, there are lots of choices - Glacier Pines in Kalispell seems pretty popular and is near the river and close to town. Kaalispell has lots of good food and things to do. Have a great trip.
