- chris3403ExplorerGoing week after next to Rockport, TX for 5 months. New park $375 per month. Taking a 21 day cruise the first week we get there. Last year only briefly (like for 1 hour) did it hit 32.
- RingerExplorerI'm a semi snowbird. Not leaving until early Feb. First stop is Long Key FL. Work our way up to Gulf Shores, AL until mid April then home. I would suggest making reservations asap if you plan on going south. The better places fill up fast during the winter months.
- jplante4Explorer IIAlso our first time snow birding. Leaving Cape Cod at the end of October and hitting Myrtle and Hilton Head on the way down. Thanksgiving with family in Boynton Beach - staying at John Prince Park - and then going to try to catch a launch at Canaveral. After that we wander eventually heading west, but not as far a CA. Plan to be back on the Cape late April.
- AdirondackJackExplorerWe spend the cold months in a country RV park just East of Tampa. Quiet and peaceful but only 10 minutes to any store, restaurant or show. Some years a few chilly days but it warms up quickly and the only white stuff around here is beach sand.
- riven1950ExplorerNot really snowbirds since we live just north of MB SC. We have been going to the Keys for a month or so in the winter for a break and the fishing. This year we are going late, end of Feb to mid April. That way when we get home it will be time to get out and enjoy the Spring here.
- 2gypsies1Explorer IIIDon't overplan. . . just point it south and when you feel comfortable, stop. If the weather starts getting too chilly, move again. Encounter a loud neighbor? Move on. That's the joy of RVing. You'll soon find YOUR favorite spot. Someone else's favorite may not appeal to you.
- pjskyExplorerWe go to Yuma AZ. Yuma has the warmest average annual temperatures in the continental United States. The resort where we stay has 800 sites and huge amounts of activities including an 18 hole golf course. This will be our eleventh year. We are there for 6 months.
- stickdogExplorerThis will be our fourth winter in Fl. first was north central, as we are from northern IL a few nights below freezing was fine. After a winter in TX we returned to FL but south near Palm Beach, running the AC was a near every day occurrence second south winter was the same. We did TX again last winter too much freezing rain in the Hill country back to south FL this winter.
- NanciLExplorer IIWe have snow birded in the Florida Keys for the past ten years and love it.
Every year we leave our NC mountain house earlier.
This year we will be leaving in the end of October, and coming back in April.
If you want nice weather, the Keys are the place to go
Jack L - cheteckieExplorerWe are newbie snowbirds, too. We're heading southwest as soon as all the leaves are off the trees, and the lawn raked.
