Who Leaves the on-demand Pump On

Our pump goes on when we set up, as does the how water tank on electric. It all gets shut down if we leave the rig for the day, or when we hit the road to come home. If we are hooked to city water I am also inclined to turn off the supply tap if we leave the site.
Basically if I get a leak with my pump 50 gallons is going to go everywhere but I should be there to stop it. The choice is yours as to how to utilize the systems in your rig.

I think you missed that this is the boondocking forum. I doubt you operate your water heater on electric while boondocking.
