They can't get out and touch everything. The important areas are destinations. Much rather my kid be able to see as much of certain things rather than not attempting at all. And seeing some things through a car window is no worse than sitting at home and seeing it on tv.
And no, not Only Otr truck drivers. Many people can drive like that and be ok. If you can't, then you either have medical issues or no self discipline.
