Here it is our first winter of retirement and it's like this section has died. I was hoping to learn all kinds of things, is everybody gone to a different site/forum? There have been days at a time ...

This my second winter as a snowbird - and still loving it.
I agree with those above. I think many are turned away by the snarky and demeaning remarks of a select few.
I too am guilty of just checking in on the "Active" topics and not into a particular group. I have noticed the disconnect though.
People who travel vast distances to spend the winter months in warmer climates are, many times, VERY different than a young person with a young family that heads to a local park for the weekend.
The 'young' minds just can't wrap their head around spending the night in a Walmart for example.
I have started to think I may be better off frequenting the Hybrid/Travel Trailer and snowbird forum.
I do disagree, I am a snowbird, in Florida, and I still check in on the board every day.
I wouldn't mind chatting it up with other snowbirds.
