Western, our little pride and joy is 8 almost 9. She and her mother live with us. She loves animals. We take her to cabelas just to look at all the stuffed ones they have all over the place, and of course, their aquariums. Her mother works the night shift so the little one has spent most of her life with us old folks. This morning before I took her to school, we read a story about a ground hog planting a garden. Guess what we are going to do here this spring? She wants potatoes and tomatoes and sunflowers. sounds like a good combo to me. We make sure she has kid things, but she also gets a dose of old folks entertainment. She goes to tae kwan do , roller skates and rides her bike. We make sure to include a lot of dolls and doll houses, and round it out with Books and more books that we read to her and of course she reads a lot on her own.
thank you for the information that I missed. I sometimes do get frustrated with bad behavior on here, but then I have to remind myself that there are all kinds of people on this earth and I have to let their behavior go. Ignore is a very powerful attitude that I enjoy and use when it is appropriate. I also realize that it is more difficult for other people to use when they are directly attacked. Especially when they are relatively new here.
Well, my lazy bones need to get up and wash some windows. Have a great day , and also to our other new friends out there in cyberland.
Mention a Ground hog in a garden around here, and you will likely see a shotgun appear in short order. We have numerous guests who spend hours every day, for weeks and months at a time, seeking and watching wildlife. Occasionally, they will bring in footage of a bear, wolf or other predator taking down prey. I imagine seeing that would leave an indelible mark on an 8 year old. Nature isn't always as pretty as the pictures.
