I seek out KOA's because at very least, they are consistent. Some are exceptional destination resorts. Petaluma, Benbow Valley, Circle of Pines in Williams, San Diego, and Santa Cruz/Monterey are but a few of the true gems in the franchise. This week we were returning from the FMCA Rally in Chandler and decided to stop at the KOA in Kingman, AZ for an overnight. Kingman, really, I certainly did not expect much, but is was NASCAR weekend in Las Vegas, so an early arrival was out of the question. The Kingman KOA was certainly pleasant and friendly. We were escorted to our site. The site was gravel, clean, almost level (acceptable) and the hookups were excellent. Good electric from newer posts, easy access water, clean sewer connections. The dog run was clean and large enough for some exercise. We did not use the clean pool or the well maintained miniature golf park, and we did not use the spotless laundry. As for the WiFi, even at resort parks, the WiFi is shared by so many that it is often almost useless. We travel with a Hot Spot, so I don't bother with the park WiFi. $47 or $50 a night for a secure, safe campsite, maintained and functioning utilities, and amenities available, even if not used, seems reasonable to me. Happy Trails.
