You also have to take into account of where you were. There's nothing around. Everything is gravel and few trees. It's high desert. :)

Except that extra 40mi RT from that KOA right on your travel path at 7MPG and $3/gal fuel costs you and extra $15 to $20 and amost an hour extra travel time and those you mentioned don't probably have all the ultilites, especially sewer and 50A that the KOA has. I'll still take the KOA.
