After a bad experience of price gouging at a Dayton, OH. KOA on our very first trip with the RV KOA came to stand for KEEP OURSELVES AWAY. We did. For 3 years. About 400 nights & not a single KOA.
We have mellowed in the past few years but still avoid them. Don't need the pool, the golf, the conference room, being right next to the highway, any of the other stuff KOAs typically have, at a price.
Every once in awhile a KOA is the best thing going in spite of the price. It is like a fast food chain. You know what to expect there.
